Our Ibisene® is a high potency extract standardised upon its cynarin content at 2%. It is the cynarin in Ibisene which contains the active compounds and we've included a relevant level of 6.4mg, equivalent to 8 grams of fresh artichoke.

Artichoke's use as a herb was first documented in the 4th Century BC. The herb belongs to the plant family, Asteraceae that includes Sunflower and Milk Thistle. Also known as Globe Artichoke, the plant produces large purple and green flower heads and is distict from Jerusalem Artichoke, the edible root vegetable.

Traditionally, artichoke has been used for the alleviation of dyspepsia (pain or discomfort in the upper abdomen or lower chest after eating). Modern research has led to practioners extending its application to the management of symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) such as flatulence, bloating, abdominal pain and nausea, alonside the treatment of impaired fat digestion.

Do not take if pregnant or breast feeding.

Recommended daily intake: Initial intake: 2 tablets with each meal (max 6) / Maintenence intake: 1-2 tablets with each meal
