8000mg) |
|
| Our Ibisene® is a high potency
extract standardised upon its cynarin content at 2%. It is the cynarin in Ibisene which
contains the active compounds and we've included a relevant level of 6.4mg, equivalent to
8 grams of fresh artichoke. Artichoke's use as a herb was first documented in the 4th Century
BC. The herb belongs to the plant family, Asteraceae that includes Sunflower and Milk
Thistle. Also known as Globe Artichoke, the plant produces large purple and green flower
heads and is distict from Jerusalem Artichoke, the edible root vegetable.
Traditionally, artichoke has
been used for the alleviation of dyspepsia (pain or discomfort in the upper abdomen or
lower chest after eating). Modern research has led to practioners extending its
application to the management of symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) such as
flatulence, bloating, abdominal pain and nausea, alonside the treatment of impaired fat
