Hamiltons Fitness
provides courses for the fitness industry and local authorities to enable key workers to
safely supervise weight training equipment and free-weight gyms. To enable them to
demonstrate and give instruction in a range of machine based and free weight exercises and
to plan, deliver and evaluate simple exercise programmes.
Advanced Weight Training
Techniques is a one day course designed for personal trainers, gym instructors or the
exercise enthusiast covering advanced free-weight training techniques, programme
construction, free-weights for sports performance, goal setting and motivational
techniques. Many whole body exercises will be covered including: Deadlifts, Power Cleans
and Squats.
Other topics will
include: teaching methods - aspects of safety applied to weights equipment and the
training area etc. Suitability of exercises to a variety of users including various
disabled and special needs users.
This will give the
participant:
A Toolbox of free-weight exercises to use themselves or with clients
Confidence using free-weights in any environment
The ability to adapt exercise programmes for use with special populations
Participants should have
basic knowledge of exercise physiology and anatomy and some experience with either
teaching exercise or a number of years experience with exercising themselves. A pre-course
reading pack and recommended reading list is available with this course, if required.

Course start time 9am,
expected finish time 5pm. Course price includes a light lunch and tea or coffee. Snacks
and sports drinks are available to purchase. Full changing, showering and locker
facilities are available.
